![]() A delicious roast beef and vegetable stew, well made ravioli (and a grilled chicken breast dinner coming home) accompanied by well-chosen salad, artisan bread slice and appropriate sweet dish following! The on board staff were very accommodating and took care to provide travelers with beverages from time to time throughout the flight. In flight, we had the best in-flight meals we had ever had on any airline we have flown. Checking in at all Aer Lingus airport stations was friendly, quick and efficient, with no major lines to deal with. First off, our luggage was waiting for us in Birmingham, no problem. We are certainly glad we did, in spite of having to transfer at Dublin. Of course, we had concerns about our luggage getting properly transferred on to Birmingham and also never having used this airline before. We chose Aer Lingus as the best route to take. This was surprising as Birmingham is England's second largest city-no direct flights there until the end of May, by any airline. Let's hope it happens again.Īs we wished to visit Birmingham (to see our beloved Aston Villa play), the only flights available were Toronto to Dublin, then a transfer flight to Birmingham. this certainly was not as luxurious but just as tasty. The flavor of this meal brought back memories of meals served in first class (before business class existed) from a serving cart and carved and platd at your seat on china with silverware. ![]() Once in Europe on their domestic flights nothing is offered complimentary - they even charge for water. You can pre - order special meals at a cost of about 20 Euros. One hour prior to arrival we were offered coffee, tea, orange juice and a bludberry muffin. Surprisingly for a trans atllantic we were charged for all alcohol - 5 Euros for beer and wine and 6 Euros for alcohol. The portions were on the small side but all very flavorful. And desert.a double chocolate (dark and white chocolate) mousse - tasted much better than it looked. The very cold roll was almost inedible and crumbled apart - the stew was very good - the very tender beef was accompanied by frozen peas, carrots and perfectly cooked small whole potatoes in a tasty red wine sauce - better than I can make. The small Greek salad (tomato, cucumber and feta cheese) was dressed in a tasty and fresh vinaigrette. ![]() I must say that it was a very enjoyable meal - if you can ever describe a meal on a plane with this adjective. An hour later is a meal service - we had choice of vegetarian pasta or beef stew. One half hour into the flight beverage service is offered - sodas, juices and hot beverages are complimentary along with a pretzel snack. We flew Aer Lingus from Boston to Dublin and were pleasantly surprised at the roominess of the seats compared to some flights that we've taken lately - Unfortunately seats are only assigned at check-in unless you chose to pre-pay for one.
